It is programmed to read tone as well as features to communicate better. Its voice recognition capability enables it to identify different people and remember details about them.
Pepper is a customer service robot that comes equipped with voice recognition, a 12-hour battery life, and best of all the ability to read your emotions and respond accordingly.

Pepper has come a long way since June 2014 when it was first launched. Today, the humanoid robot is available all over Japan. European companies like SoftBank, Renault, Costa, Nestle, Carrefour, and Uniqlo are already working with the robot.
Pepper’s unique capabilities allow it to welcome customers and provide them with product information. The robot can also drive traffic and collect data.

What makes Pepper so ideal for customer service is that it can tell whether a customer is happy or sad by analyzing their choice of words, tone, facial expressions, as well as gestures. Pepper is wired for interpersonal communication and even changes its eye colour, choice of words, as well as gestures to show emotion. So it can empathize.
Pepper is a pioneer as the first robot that interacts with humans. It is equipped with sensors for discerning its environment. Pepper even knows when its battery is running low and will go back to its charging station before it shuts down.

Users initiate interaction it by talking to it. But Pepper is also capable of initiating conversation when people approach.
Pepper was created not just to act as programmed but to learn new information and adapt its behavior. This means that it is not as boring and predictable as you would expect a robot to be. It can surprise you on occasion much a human.
This means that customers have the opportunity to teach the robot how to better play its role. It knows people’s names, their moods, and what they look like.

Pros:
• Pepper is multilingual and capable of speaking 20 languages, which makes the robot ideal for companies that operate in a multilingual environment to meet the needs of customers.
• The robot can interpret smiles, surprised looks, frowns, as well as nonverbal cues. It knows whether you are sad or happy.
• The robot has a slender frame and looks graceful. You don’t see any screws on him and his hands look just like human hands, fully capable of gripping.
• It moves easily in any direction using three wheels at its base.
• Pepper can run for 12 hours without tiring and adjusts his movement to prevent overheating and interact better with humans.
• This humanoid robot doesn’t just wait for people to approach it. It will take the initiative to approach anyone standing 1.5m away.
• Sensors placed on the robot’s head, tablet, and hands allow it to perceive and interpret touch.
Cons:
• Even though Pepper comes preloaded with thousands of questions and answers, it can still make mistakes. With time, the robot learns to interact better humans. This means that users still have to teach Pepper how to respond to different situations.
• Pepper’s voice and manner of expression need to be adapted to fit in well with different languages and cultures.
• Believe it or not, robots sometimes face internal conflicts. What should it do when your instructions contradict prior instructions? You can turn on a feature called Inner Speech, and listen to the robot’s internal monologue. You will listen to how it thinks.
Pepper is uniquely designed for customer service because it is supposed to thrive on conversation. It likes talking to people and can do this for up to 12 hours. This is a superhuman strength.

Humans in the past eras made bulls and other animals fight in the midst of the ground, and that used to be a primary source of entertainment during those simple times.

Now humans make robots fight against one another in various sports, and now this is the new source of entertainment for us.

Times have changed dramatically, isn’t it?

Even though robots are not as perfect at sports as humans are, what excites us more is the fact that robots are designed to closely adapt to human motions and their algorithms allow them to copy those motions and perform them. When you see a robot functioning like a human, your faith in technology becomes firmer, and you are astounded by how much technology has developed over the past few decades.

Honestly, it is formidable that robots have almost made their way in every sector of the human world. However, even though human sports still remains as the major entertainment for us, sports robots show the same impeccable precision and swift movements as humans do, which is jaw-dropping.

Companies Around The World Are Constructing Sports Robot

Sports robots are the new domestic robots with the main purpose of showing off skills and entertaining humans. Toyota has built their robot called Cue 3, and Cue 3 excites people and is known for its impeccable precision. That guy definitely amazes its audience with how much it can do.

Another bewildering example is the enormous MegaBots. These 15-foot tall sports robots shoot huge canon-sized paintballs at one another and fight in an epic battle in a stadium. It almost gives the vibe of a tech movie playing in real life!

On the contrary, little robots play soccer in a small court where sports robots play soccer, introduced by RoboCup. It’s a cute little show and can quickly captivate a large audience. You may not see the finesse of any legendary soccer player, but it is surely fun to watch them play. You should see the way they fall and get back up.

Moreover, Japan is famous for its sumo wrestling. But what’s new is that Japan is becoming famous for its robotic sumo wrestling! Japan is entertaining the world with its sumo wrestlers that go head to head to thump one another on the floor!

Final Word

Companies are constantly improving their home robots, and they are willing to hold huge matches between robots from different companies. Having robots from the biggest company from around the world on one battlefield is definitely going to be very entertaining!

Edutainment is a term made from the combination of education and entertainment. It is more like making education and learning fun for a person, unlike the traditional ways where kids would hate attending school because everything seems boring to them.

But not anymore. Now your kids will beg you to send them to school. What’s the secret?

A domestic robot teacher in their classroom!

Ever since robots were created, scientists sought new ways to make learning an even more fruitful and prosperous experience. It’s logical why we need more advanced technology in the education sector. Not only do these domestic robots teach, but they have become a great source of entertainment, hence the term; edutainment.

Needless to say, home robots like edutainment robots will soon make schools and courses fun and intriguing. Having a robot to teach you is itself entertainment and fills a human with excitement.

Will most schools adopt this new technology? Hopefully.

Entertainment At Its Best!

Have you heard about the gigantic Gundam Robot from Japan?

This robot is almost 60 feet tall and Japan continues to amaze the world with its high-tech intelligence that came straight out of a comic!

You read that right! Gundam is a robot in innumerable Japanese TV series and comics. Its character is so widely popular that Japan thought why not just make one? The robot soon grabbed the attention of the entire world and became a major source of entertainment in Japan.

The New Generation Of Learning And Entertainment

Schools may still follow the same methods of teaching. However, with a robot, certain education centers from around the world are ready to shift from traditional teaching methods to more effective and thorough teaching techniques.

Having a domestic robot to take part in many human matters has resulted in saving a lot of human time. Plus, when talking about edutainment robots, we are talking about top-notch intelligence and accuracy. Take the example of Pepper. It is a humanoid robot designed to teach concepts and its academic version has served excellent educational services!

What’s Next?

Humans are doing everything in their power to switch to technology so that we can save our time and efforts. Especially in Italy, where engineers are investing a lot of their time into making robots that have the academic abilities and are designed to teach integrated subjects and also research purposes.

During the pandemic, the world witnessed a surge in the use of robots and technology for learning compared to what the charts showed just a year before. It only means that domestic robots will soon take charge in our education and entertainment areas.

Final Word

Home robots are gradually occupying a lot of space in our world and undoubtedly we will have robots walking amongst us and in our classrooms as well.
